It is COMPULSORY to use an AUTOMATIC OPENING SYSTEM (AAD) to jump Skydive Lillo.

GEAR

  • It is mandatory for all skydivers to have a gear check (from a Skydive Lillo instructor or another experienced skydiver) before boarding.
  • It is mandatory for all skydivers to have a working AAD fitted to their rigs. AAD type “FXC 12000” or similar models are not accepted for freefly.
  • Hand Deploy B.O.C. (bottom of container) or pull out system is mandatory for freefly (FF).
  • Tight riser covers (FF).
  • Excellent condition of the spandex pocket for FF and in good condition for flat flying. For FF we recommend a proper harness fit. It should not move.
  • Velcro on harness-handles in good condition.
  • Hand Deploy bridle well protected and closing loops (main and reserve) sufficiently tight and in good condition.
  • Suitable canopy and size depending on the level of experience.

SECONDARY EQUIPMENT

  • A visual altimeter is mandatory.
  • For FF an audible altimeter is mandatory. A secondary audible altimeter is recommended.
  • A helmet is mandatory for FF.
  • Minimum for camera jumps is 100 jumps.
  • We recommend a single point release system for all camera helmets.
  • Don’t use a camera helmet with bracket without mounting the camera.

RENTAL EQUIPMENT

  • Rented equipment must be packed only by the DZ packers. The cost of packing is included in the price.
  • An equipment check by a DZ staff is required before boarding.
  • The gear rental includes its normal use; damage or loss of any of its components is user’s responsability, including rigging expenses due to cutaway.

MANIFEST & BOARDING

  • Don’t manifest unless you are ready to jump – packed and organized. No bumping loads.
  • Remember the plane and load number. Listen to the calls and remember to board the right plane. (There might be more than one Pilatus for example).
  • You will get 15 mins, 10 mins and 5 mins boarding calls by your load number.
  • Go to the boarding area when you hear your boarding call (you’re late, you loose your ticket).
  • Determine exit order by discussing it with other groups on your load. If a staff organizer or instructor is on the load they have the final say.
  • Use the mockups for exit practice. No door jams in the actual airplanes.
  • School and tandems enter first.
  • The standard exit order at Skydive Lillo is as follows:
    1. Jumpers that open at 5000 ft
    2. Belly flyers, largest group to smallest
    3. Free flyers, largest group to smallest
    4. Tandems and students
    5. Wingsuits
  • You’re a small group, enter first. Bigger groups enter last. With special wind conditions, the DZ will change this order.
  • All equipment has to be worn prior to boarding the aircraft. Get an equipment check by another skydiver and approach the aircraft from behind.
  • High openings: notify manifest and pilot if you plan to open above 5,000 feet (1.500 m.) No high openings unless you have permission from manifest. During events with more than one aircraft flying all high openings must be coordinated with DZ staff. If you are going to pull between 3000 ft and 5000 ft, advise to the load organizer or instructor on the load, to determine your exit place.
  • If you are the one opening or closing the door, be gentle with it when closing. Thanks.

EXIT

  • Spoting and exit is given by the pilot. He will not accept corrections or go arounds. Be prepared for either a 180º or a 360º at the pilot’s discretion. For low exits or CRW ask about special jump run procedures.
    .
  • Under normal conditions, big groups exit before smaller groups.
  • Under normal wind conditions keep a minimum of 7 seconds distance between groups.
  • Exit Separation: with reported upper winds of 0-10 knots, please allow between 6 – 8 seconds between exits (take into account the time it takes to climb out of the aircraft.)
  • For winds of 15 knots or higher please use the following formula: Take upper winds divided by 2 which will give you the recommended amount of time between exits! Upper winds:
15 knots – 7 seconds between exit groups
30 knots – 15 seconds between exit groups
40 knots – 20 seconds between exit groups
  • Wingsuits exit last and fly in the same direction of the jump run.

FREEFALL FREEFLY

  • New or inexperienced free flyers must only jump solo or with a Freefly Coach
  • A rig considered “Freefly friendly” must be used. If you are unsure please ask the Freefly school.
  • Tracking Dives must be 90º from line of flight
  • Los saltos de derivas se realizarán a 90º con respecto a la pista y siempre con dirección hacia el norte.
  • For freeflying in groups (2 or more) you need either a SKYDIVE LILLO check or one of the following licences: B4 (FFP), FF2 (BPA), CBT

FLAT FLYING

  • To jump in groups, it is necessary to have an A license or FS1 (BPA), B2 (FFP).

BREAK OFF & OPENING

  • Break off altitude for FF is 5000 ft. for 2-ways. Bigger groups break off at 5500 ft.
  • Flat fly formations break off at min 4000 ft, if possible always track 90º off runway to avoid collisions with earlier or following groups.
  • Minimum pull altitude is 2500 ft (700m).
  • Fly your canopy 90º off runway, until the following group opened!!! Then return to the DZ.

CANOPY FLYING & LANDING

  • Location brief: the landing area is close to the hangar, this is the north of the runway. Where is the lake, is the south of the runway, never fly over this site!!! Ask to see the aerial map of the landing areas in the hangar.

  • In conjunction with experience (number of jumps) the DZ could restrict jumping due to weather and wind conditions.
  • Descend to the north of the runway, respecting the waiting areas designed. Avoid spiralling over the target area.
  • No volar o aterrizar en la zona de prolongación de la pista (zona de aproximación de aviones).
  • Under canopy, never cross the runway!!! Fly always at the north of the runway.
  • Don’t fly or land your canopy at the extended ends of the runway (aircraft approach)..
  • With north-west wind (wind from the hills) land in a right hand pattern into wind. With south-east wind (wind from the village) land in a left hand pattern into wind.
  • If you are unexperienced and are not confortable with the traffic, choose another landing area close to the DZ. There are millions of places to land arround the DZ, but remember, always at the north of the runway!!
  • En otras condiciones de viento aterriza en la dirección de la "T". La campana que vuela más bajo tiene la prioridad de paso.
  • EWith NO wind or low changing wind land in the direction of the landing “T”, the lower canopy has the right or way.
  • Don’t endanger yourself or others by perfoming low hookturns.
  • Las aproximaciones con campanas de alto rendimiento no deben poner en peligro otros tráficos o a los espectadores.
  • High performance approaches must not endanger other traffic or spectators.
  • If traffic is heavy limit turns in the pattern to 90º or less.

OUTSIDE LANDINGS

  • If possible, try to land in the same area as other people landing out. This makes it easier to collect you and in the case of an emergency, there are people to help straight away.
  • Proceed to the nearest road or way and wait for pick-up. Report to the manifest after an outside landing.
  • Any breaking of a safety rule gives the right to the DZ Safety Adviser to ground you for the day. If you have any questions or comments please inquire with the DZ manager.
