There are a lot of bars and restaurants for having lunch or dinner, covering a wide range of prices.

But first, a brief note on some Spanish food:

Tapa: This is a small "taster" to accompany your beer or wine; it will usually be offered and is usually included in the price. It consists of a small plate of olives/peanuts/almonds, or maybe 'magra' (tiny bits of pork in tomato sauce), a slice of tortilla, or mini kebabs. The choices are never ending!

Ración: This will be a side-plate size and is definitely charged for! Order a selection to share. Two recommendations are 'alas de pollo' (deep-fried chicken wings), a Lillo speciality, and calamares (squid), either chopped into rings, battered and deep-fried, or just fried with garlic, lemon and parsley. Delicious!

Plato combinado: A mixed plate such as chicken breast and chips, ham egg and chips, sausage.... get the picture?

Cocido: Means cooked, but refers to a big soup or stew. Good, hearty food.
