In our BIRDMAN School you will learn in a professional and safe environment – after as little as four jumps with one of our instructors – how YOU can fly with a wingsuit.

Tracking is a technique which allows us to move almost horizontally in the air and – if performed efficiently – permits us to cover great distances without losing much altitude. When it comes to tracking with other skydivers, the proper separation becomes even more important and – the bigger the group – the greater needs to be the separation. With our courses, you will quickly become very familiar with tracking and will be ready for group tracking jumps.

Once we know how to track properly, we can start tracking in groups, which offers us many maneuvers, i.e. back flying underneath, above another jumper or side by side, flying until we can even take grips. Great side effects like gaining up to 70 seconds free fall or watching a flock group jump following you gives an amazing feeling.

You don’t need to have your own wingsuit as the rental fee is already included in the course price. Even after finishing the course, our kitstore can provide you with the rental of new suits of different types for you to continue with your newly gained skills. If you decide to purchase your own suit, our DZ Shop is more than happy to provide you with professional advice and – passing through our course – you are even qualified to receive a discount on your first BIRDMAN Suit!.

What does the course consist of?

The 1-day course consists on 3 levels, which equals 3 jumps if the learning aim of each level is accomplished.

Level 1: In this first level, your track body position will be corrected and formed into the most efficient way, while learning to stay on heading.

Level 2: Learning about turns, change of direction, exit order and safety for tracking direction according to the jump-run.

Level 3: Learning how to keep and adjust fall rate and demonstration of the newly acknowledged skills.

Each level can be passed with one jump. The course price therefore, includes 3 coached jumps with a qualified instructor.

Requirements

Basic knowledge after completing AFF Course. A-license not mandatory.

Objectives

This course will teach you how to track safely, efficiently and stable until controlled turns, change of directions and how to track in a group.

If you pass this course, you can go for the Wingsuit Course with less than 200 jumps!!!

What does the course consist of?

This course consists on a theoretical part, in which the safety aspects will mainly be covered, and a practical part, in which we will learn the different techniques of tracking.

Level I: Tracking on belly: to get the most out of the tracking, formation flying including grip-taking.

Level II: Change of heading and direction: turns in group jumps, including radical changes of 180º.

Level III: Change of speed and adjust fall rate and angle in order to track with a group

Level IV: Tracking on back: tracking on the back is not as difficult as one might think. Here we learn all secrets about it.

Level V: Introduction to Atmonauti: we learn the different positions, the angles and all the safety aspects about this way of skydiving.

Level VI: Introduction to Birdman: we learn the first body positions especially for wingsuit jumping, i.e. opening procedure etc. (optional).

Some of those level might require more than one jump. The course price includes 6 coached jumps with instructors.

What does the course consist of?

This course is focused at skydivers who wish to begin flying with a wingsuit and consists of:

Theoretical part: Duration approx. 3 hours, covering the following themes:

Introduction
Equipment lesson
Emergency procedure
Communication with manifest and pilots
Exit
Safety distance between groups
Different exit techniques
Flight techniques
Opening procedure and gearing up
Weather conditions

Evaluation jump:

There will be one check dive in order to see if everything learned from the ground school has been understood. In this jump you will show everything needed for the wingsuit jump, i.e. exit, body position, practice pulls, etc. without wearing the wingsuit.

If you are already an experienced skydiver and can document your tracking experience with logbook or video, or if you have successfully passed our ADVANCED-TRACK-COURSE, we will continue right away with the wingsuit jumps.

3 Wingsuit jumps:

In three jumps we will learn stable exits, controlled turns, practice pulls, orientation flights with opening in a safe and air controlled area.

Our plan in each jump will be:

stable exit
controlled turn in regards of orientation
2 practice pulls
Flight with controlled heading, speed and leveling
Controlled turn towards the landing area
Safe opening in the controlled area

At the end of the course you will receive a DVD with all your jumps edited.

Bring your own Wingsuit
minimum of 200 jumps (in case of less: successfully passing of our Advanced-Track-Course)
