Main Canopies
The main canopies are provided by Performance Designs and Icarus canopies and the sizes vary from 260 to 107 which allows us to give you an ideal size according to your bodyweight and experience. The student parachutes offer a combination of performance, forgiveness and of course durability and allow the student to become proficient with their canopy control and maintain safety.
AAD or Automatic Opening Device
The AAD is designed to open your reserve parachute at a certain altitude in the case that you are unable to deploy a parachute for yourself. We use the world's leading manufacturer of AAD's, Airtec from Germany to equip all our parachutes with AAD's.
Reserve Canopies
The reserve canopy is there as a back up and hopefully something you won't need. Our reserves are manufactured by Performance Designs and Aerodyne and are of the latest generation.
The reserves are repacked and checked by a professional rigger regularly.
Other equipment
Additional skydiving equipment, like helmets, suits, altimeters, goggles and radios, is also included during the course.
After your AFF course and before you go out and buy a parachute or other skydiving equipment our staff will be more than willing to give you impartial advice on what type of equipment will best suite your needs and budget.
Choosing the correct skydiving equipment is a very complex task and it could cost not only your budget but also your safety. There are many aspects you have to consider, some of which you may not even be aware of.
It is important therefore that you buy your equipment from a company that has links with all the major manufacturers and can provide you with a detailed and impartial list of pros and cons for different types of equipment.
Skydive Lillo as an International drop zone has dealerships with all major manufacturers. We have demo rigs in our kit store on site that you can try on the ground to see how the harness fits and even jump with to see how the canopy flies. In that way you can make an informed decision according to the advice given and your own personal preferences.
